Guests of Honour
2019 - Simon HopkinsonIf you grew up in Australia, chances are you've been influenced by this man.
Quite aside from his years as a playwright and theatre director, Simon Hopkinson has had a long involvement with the ABC and Australian television. He co-created and wrote for the original Bananas in Pyjamas and a host of other shows, as well as entering into production and editing roles. Simon has also been Commissioning Editor for ABC Children’s Television, a consultant for ACMA, and President of the Australian Writers’ Guild. Simon comes to us to talk about the production process, and how a book adaptation travels from page to screen - a process he has overseen many times, with titles ranging from The Magic Pudding to Tomorrow When The War Began. As one of the most experienced in the game, we are truly lucky to have him join us. |
2018 - Earth Five LeatherworksPeter started out in Kabul, specialising in non-saddlery pieces, unlike other leatherworkers in the region. He will be bringing some wares to the Convention for admiration and purchase, but in the meantime you can check out his website here. |

2015 - Linda Taglieri
Linda Taglieri lives in Sydney where she works as a mining industry analyst. She has been writing essays and articles on the Wheel of Time since 2003 on subjects as varied as the magic system, the real world influences on the Wheel of Time, character analysis, symbolism in the books, and, of course, her theories, with more (yes, more!) in the planning. She was a Wheel of Time admin on the now defunct fansite wotmania for five years before establishing the Thirteenth Depository: A Wheel of Time Blog in 2009 for her articles on The Wheel of Time. A keen embroiderer, Linda exhibits annually with a group of dedicated textile artists. Since she finds it fun to combine her interests, she is creating a long-running series of miniature Wheel of Time costumes for fashion dolls. She has participated in panels and costuming workshops at JordanCon, DragonCon and WorldCon, and was a beta reader for Towers of Midnight and A Memory of Light.
